a: Steel thickness :The thinner the steel, the lower the pull force,Magnet just only attract iron, ferrous metal and nickel, do not attract gold, silver, copper, Ali and their alloy and stainless stee.Magnetic force concentrates on the bottom and another side of the fishing magnet,there is hardly any magnetic force of other surface.
b: Pulling direction :The bigger of the pulling direction beyond 90°, the lower the pull force, normally the Pull force in horizontal direction is only about one third of that in vertical direction.
c: Attracting position :The farther beyond the center of gravity, the lower the pull force.
In addition, iron chips of magnetic surface also reduce the pull-force of magnet at some extent.

Notice:
1.Ordinary neodymium magnets only use one side of their magnetic field to stick to metal which means they’re only using half of their available strength. However,if add a steel cup, the other pole of the magnet to be used which increases the strength of the magnet to much higher than that of a normal neodymium magnet. At the same time, the steel cup also protects the magnet from being damaged when frequently used,but also makes the other side magnetically weak.
2.Strong magnet should keep away from kids, If magnet damaged please dispose of shards completely. They are still magnetized and will cause serious problem if swallowed by children.
3.The pulling force will maximize when pulling from vertical direction with magnets surface.
4.The Pulling Force will be influenced by many factors: the material of the stuff, effective contact area, the smoothness of the surface, pull direction, temperatures, material type, thickness, flatness, friction levels, etc), its quality (e.g. rust free), its size (thickness plus total surface area), etc.
